Holding Village: A New Community in Wake Forest

Holding Village is one of the newest communities in Wake Forest, NC. The first phase has begun and will features three popular builders in Drees Homes, John Wieland Homes, and Ashton Woods.

The developers for this community are Wheelock Communities and Reader & Partners. The site of Holding Village sits on 254 acres once owned by the Holding Family, who were very well known in Wake Forest and played a major part in the development of the Town of Wake Forest in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The highlight of the property is a 13-acre spring-fed lake.

Traditional Neighborhood Design

The Holding Village Neighborhood will be Wake Forest's first community featuring a Traditional Neighborhood Design. The developers have chosen this increasingly popular style because is designed to create a close-knit neighborhood. Most of the homes feature prominent front porches and are set close to the community’s tree-lined streets. Sidewalks connect the neighborhood to the many pocket parks, lake and pool. Many of the homes also feature rear garages that are accessed via alleys behind the homes. Future plans include walking trails connecting Smith Creek Soccer Center, Heritage Golf Course, and Heritage Elementary Schools.

Holding Village's Amenities

The community is designed for the entire family in mind. When complete, Holding Village will include many amenities including four pocket parks, a multipurpose ball field, a pool pavilion with playground and many open spaces. Holding Lake features open-air docks for fishing, kayaking, and many miles of nature trails that connect to the area park system. The central amenity, including a pool and play area overlooking the lake were completed in summer of 2016.

Homes and Builders

The first phase of the community, now under construction, will include 374 single-family homes located south of the lake and connected by South Franklin Street from Rogers Road.

John Wieland Homes, Drees Homes and Ashton Woods Homes will offer a variety of home sizes and types, many of which will feature traditional neighborhood design principles that include prominent front porches and rear garages served by alleys. All builders will offer homes with down-stair master bedrooms.

Holding Village will be a 1GB community and will offer state-of-the-art “Fiber to the Forest” technology to all homes.

The first phase of Holding Village does not include senior housing, however Huntington Springs is a senior housing facility located directly across from Holding Village.

Nearby Public Schools

Holding Village residents are in the Wake Forest school district. Heritage Elementary School will be accessible by greenway in 2017.
